Vitality star Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of DreamHack Masters Malmö 2019 by HLTV.org and betway.
The French talent was already leading the race for the award ahead of the final and he continued that streak with a superb display against fnatic as he topped the scoreboard on all three maps to end the series with a 1.38 rating.
fnatic's Freddy "KRIMZ" Johansson and Jesper "JW" Wecksell were also in the running for the award but ultimately fell short against ZywOo, who had in Malmö the second-highest Big Event rating of his career (1.36).
The 18-year-old, who was Vitality's top performer in every match on Swedish soil, led the tournament charts for KDD (+121), percentage of rounds with at least one kill (56.3%) and opening kills per round (0.16). He was also featured in the top five in seven other categories, including rating, damage per round (89.4), kills per round (0.89) and success in opening duels (65.7%).
ZywOo's individual success sees him take his medal count to four, all of which came this year, with this being the second medal scooped by the French talent despite not winning the tournament after ESL One Cologne, where Liquid won the title.
